The City of Plattsburg owns and/or operates services for the
city's Water, Wastewater (Sewer), Natural Gas, Solid Waste
(Trash) and Recycling. For questions regarding any

Water
The City of Plattsburg is widely known for being a regional utility service in the Clinton County area. The City is one of three communities with authorization to draw water from 7,200-acre Smithville Lake. The
City has a modern water treatment plant built in 1980 just off of the Smithville Lake in Trimble, Missouri. The Plant can provide up to 1,000,000 gallons of water daily. The City of Plattsburg provides water to over 3,000 households.

The City of Plattsburg also operates and owns the Plattsburg Municipal Gas system that serves over 1,000
households and stretches over 60 miles. The system buys its natural gas from Williams Pipeline, and
the Gas System is regulated by the Missouri Public Service Commission.

The City of Plattsburg also operates and maintains a wastewater treatment plant to serve the City.
This modern style oxidation ditch plant was built in 1985. The City’s wastewater treatment plant lab provides testing services for nine other communities. The system originally built in the 1920’s is currently being considered for expansion to unsewered portions of town and rehabilitated.

The City currently has a contract with Redgate Disposal
service. Redgate Disposal also provides commercial
dumpster service in accordance with rate limitations established
in the City contract. If you are in need of a dumpster,

The City offers curbside pick-up once a week, which is picked
up on the same day as your normal trash collection. You
must have a red recycling bin to participate, which can be
obtained at City Hall. There is a one time $3 charge for
