Board of Zoning Adjustment
A seven member panel appointed by the Mayor. This board serves as a quasi-judicial appeals board. It hears appeals of land use decisions made by the Planning and Zoning Administrator. It has no regular meeting dates but is scheduled as needed.
A nine member panel appointed by the Mayor for four year terms. This board meets the 1st Wednesday of each month. This board is responsible for the operation, maintenance and improvement of the City's five parks. This board also has general supervision over the City recreation (baseball/softball) programs and the Municipal swimming pool.
A nine member panel appointed by the Mayor to four year terms. This board meets as needed on the 3rd Thursday of each month and is responsible for making recommendations to the Board of Alderman regarding planning, zoning, and development issues. The Planning Commission is also responsible for conducting hearings on conditional or special use permits.
A three member board appointed by the Mayor to oversee the City's urban forestry issues, advise the Mayor, Council and staff on tree related issues, advise staff on enforcement of City tree ordinances and oversee the City's Tree City program.
